Challenge
Sagacity, based in London, are data management specialists - they help businesses to clean and organise their data. This can include the removal of spam, duplicate or even deceased contacts or the grouping of existing contacts by more granular demographics, including their behaviours. This allows their clients to utilise the existing client contact data in new, more efficient ways.
Sagacity came to us for assistance with their SEO. They found that their service was often one that clients didn’t know they needed, and therefore didn’t explicitly search for it. Therefore, they reached out for assistance with content optimisation and contact form completions to attract more qualified, high-intent web enquiries. Here’s how we did it…
Solution
Upon an initial deep dive into the site's content, some core issues were identified. The site was struggling to rank organically due to the lack of a cohesive structure and in-depth information about their services. This was exacerbated by the site content being written and structured in a way that search engines do not favour.
Similarly, the existing content on the site was not overly clear about what Sagacity actually do, and the value they can offer their clients. The webpages pushed for conversions, without explaining why the customer should choose them; therefore, they found they had several spam or unqualified leads.
A Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) approach was the way forward. The team spent a lot of time optimising the site content, splitting the information out by sector and expanding the amount of helpful content on each. The aim was to add clarity around Sagacity’s services and help create a need amongst the site users and encourage a conversion.
The general layout and design of the webpages were also altered, which had two effects. Firstly, the site was now able to be crawled by search engines, which boosted organic rankings! Secondly, more buttons and CTAs were added throughout the site, which allowed for a smoother customer journey and encouraged conversions along the way.
Result
The CRO-focused strategy saw great results! As we altered the content to target more specific search terms, we saw a huge increase in rankings for relevant keywords. The overall traffic was down, but this worked in Sagacity’s favour. The site traffic had higher need and intent, and therefore, the number of quality form submissions increased from roughly 10 per month to over 70. They also saw a 200% increase in conversion rate!
For over four years now, Sagacity has been incredibly happy with our services. Even after a huge company restructure, the relationship is still strong and trusting. Sagacity knows we will always act in the best interest of the site and that they can come to us anytime when they have questions or need assistance.
