Scam Alert
Scammers are messaging people on WhatsApp and Telegram, offering part-time work and using The SEO Works company name to look genuine.
These messages aren’t from us, and we have nothing to do with them.
If you’ve had one, do not reply, and make sure to block and report the number.
What the messages look like
- A message you weren’t expecting, offering flexible part-time work that’s easy to do and pays well.
- Simple tasks at home, like packing toys, sticking on labels, or making hair clips and pencil cases, or leaving business reviews.
- Sometimes a claim to work for “Google Maps business partnerships”, or a request to post online reviews.
- Promised earnings of around £100 to £500 a day.
- Some messages request for your age before they tell you anything else.
- If you question them, they send our real company number and registered office address. That information is public on Companies House, which is why they use it.
What we’ll never do
We don’t recruit through WhatsApp or Telegram. We don’t offer remote part-time work. We’ll never ask you to pay anything upfront or post reviews for anyone. Every real vacancy at The SEO Works is on our careers page.
What to do if you’ve been contacted
- Don’t reply, and don’t share personal details, bank details or ID.
- Block and report the number in WhatsApp or Telegram.
- If you’ve already paid or given out bank details, call your bank straight away. Dialling 159 connects you to most major UK banks.
Not sure a message is from us?
If it’s from WhatsApp or Telegram, it isn’t us. Our only social media pages all have the handle SEOWorksUK, and our only official domains are seoworks.co.uk or seoworks.com.
Remember – as with all scams – if an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is. If you want to double check, get in touch on 0800 292 2410 and we’ll tell you in person.
